In 2015, I worked with a diverse set of clients. My achievements running Bourke Design include: launching websites for J. Fanelli Properties, IM Health, The Dawkins Group, and Stuart Sandler Photography; performing significant development work for many businesses, including Zuelke & Associates, Yoga Pearl, Enlighten Writing, Right Angle Construction, Oregon Cosmetic and Reconstructive Clinic, and Equity Schools; and converting several of the above websites and my own to a responsive framework. I also made substantial progress on a website for Renaissance Nutrition Center, which will launch this spring. The site integrates WooCommerce and will allow owner Theresa Wright to sell books and audio files. In the area of branding and print design, I assisted Reed Kelly by designing impactful business cards for his new construction management company.
In my spare time, my mom and I have diligently readied her book, Kylie’s Ark: The Making of a Veterinarian, for publication. In early April, it will be available in print and digital form on Amazon. During the involved process, we celebrated several milestones such as: completing Kylie’s Ark digital and print designs and receiving paperback proofs; redesigning RitaWeltyBourke.com to allow for book promotion and sales; and recording promo videos. We’re currently in the midst of organizing the distribution of advance reader copies.
As always, I’ve enjoyed having a professional office space at Collective Agency to get my work done. Office owner, Alex Linkser, interviewed me last May about my passion, work, and why I value Collective Agency.
Luckily, WordCamp, the conference for WordPress afficianados, returned to Portland this year. I loved the sessions Building A Life With WordPress by Kronda Adair and Marketing Your WordPress Website by Luria Petrucci, as well as chatting with other attendees.
In the area of travel, I feel incredibly grateful to have visited some amazing places. Accompanied by family and/or friends, I explored nearby scenic hiking spots, drove an exciting loop through the south, and sailed through stunning landscapes in the south of France.
2015 was the perfect combination of hard and gratifying work, challenging continued education, and perspective-widening experiences. Cheers to these victories and the possibilities of the new year!
